An Executive Housekeeper is required at Silk Hospitality Pty Ltd’s Adelaide CBD locations in South Australia to organise and control the comprehensive outsourced housekeeping services provided to the hotel industry in the region.  The minimum skill level required of the position is a Diploma level or higher qualification or 3 years of relevant work experience is required. 


There is no doubt that the Housekeeping Department is one of the most important departments in a hotel, because of its' direct impact on the well-being and satisfaction of customers.  As the Executive Housekeeper, you will thrive on seeing your years of hands-on experience and your dedication to customer service come to fruition, as you share your knowledge and enthusiasm with your team.  


As an experienced Senior Executive Housekeeper, you will have responsibility for the professional, safe and cost effective running of the Housekeeping Department, by ensuring consistently high standards of cleanliness in guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house.  Success at this level will require you to leverage your strong relationships with Department Managers and strive with them to ensure the highest priority on Guest Service.

  • Lead your team in exceeding guest service standards;
  • Conduct thorough inspections and coach staff to ensure standards of cleanliness and guest comfort are maintained in accordance with Hotel and Brand standards;
  • Establish and maintain cost control systems for staff, linen inventories, cleaning and guest supplies;
  • Motivate your team to ensure cleaning productivity is maximised without compromising on safety or results;
  • Collaborate with the Hotel's laundry provider to manage laundering standards and costs;
  • Liaise with Front Desk and Maintenance in regard to readiness of rooms with particular attention to guest's special requirements;
  • Attend to guest requests and undertake other varying duties as required;
  • Maintain the security and privacy of guests, demonstrating your integrity and diligence at all times;
  • Effectively manage projects and negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure the Hotel's needs are met;
  • Undertake various people-management duties including recruitment, disciplinary procedures, performance evaluations, training and development of the Housekeeping team;
  • Ensure a safe workplace by reporting hazards, faulty or damaged equipment to senior staff; adhering to workplace health and safety policies and procedures; and attending safety meetings or training as required.

The full-time salary is Award (MA000009, Managerial staff) rate or higher.
